Czech language exam for the permanent residency increases to A2 level

On Monday, April 19th, 2021 Czech government agreed to increase the level of Czech language necessary for permanent residency to A2.

When does the A2 level apply from?

The date when the application is submitted is important. If you submit the permanent residency application on September 1st or later, you will have to pass the exam at A2 level. First available dates for A2 level exam will be in November 2021.

I have already submitted permanent residency application.

If you submit the application by August 31st, 2021 (included), you still can do the A1 level exam.

Current measures

The state of emergency ended on April 11th. From Monday, April 12th following measures apply:

People can move freely. The restriction on trips between districts was cancelled as well as curfew.

Only 2 people can meet.

Only the children with compulsory preschool education can return to kindergartens. 1st level of elementary education opens with the rotation system in place

In elementary art schools individual lessons are allowed.

ZOOs and botanical gardens can open, libraries, and farmer´s markets can also open.
