Little Man and the Earth 2013
Quiz contest for children up to 15 years old, divided
into three rounds which are called: A Flight Round the World (Letem světem),
Myths, Fables, Animals (Mýty, báje, zvířata) and What We Share (Co nás
spojuje).
Where? – at
the department for children and youth in the central building of the library
and in Jungmannova, Brněnská, Holice and Neředín branch libraries.
When? – from 1st March till 31st May 2013
How to join? - fill in the quiz at one of the contest sites
What can I win? – each month, one winner
will be chosen, both in the younger and older categories, who wins a small prize.
At the end of the contest, the best of the participants from all rounds will be
awarded and they will receive some lovely prizes.

Temporary suspension of certain services
Dear customers, we would like to draw your attention to a temporary interruption of some services the Centre from December 13, 2012. Specifically, the Czech language courses and legal advice. In 2013, those services will be operational. Their startup you will be informed on the website. If you would like information about mail or telephone, please contact us. sKarty / sCards
Dear clients, from the end of June 2012, the newly issued Social Card (sKarty). The card is issued once every four years, and for FREE. To collect this card you will be ask by the labor office. The card is used for payment of state social support. Through sKartu will be paid:
• housing allowance,
• unemployment benefits
• benefits in material need,
• support for the disabled, and many other benefits.
Card will work as an ID TP, ZTP and ZTP / P, and proof of identity in communication with the authorities as well. For more information:

Amendment to the residency procedure in the CR
Starting from 1. 1. 2011, the Ministry of the Interior will assume responsibility for the Management of long-term residence permits and long-stay visas. The Ministry has taken over these activities from the Foreign Police. At the same time, the Act on Residence of Foreign Nationals in Czech Republic has been amended. December 2010 - services provided in limited mode
We would like to inform you that all Czech language courses will terminate on 11th December. We are planning to open new Czech language courses during the second half of January 2011. You will be informed about their beginning in advance. You can still register for the courses.
From 11th December also the legal counselling will be paused till January 2011. During this period other services will be provided without changes.
